Having spent no little time in law enforcement,
and with an emphasis on child abuse investigation,
I feel qualified to speak on this subject a bit.

Corruption, suffering, evil, death, blood,pain,
hurt, brutality, and every kind of filth,
these things are the realm of the adults.

Adults have full control over their use of will and
choice of manner of living, and so,
while it was distressing to see just how far
adults could fall from grace,
it was their infliction upon innocent children
of their own evil, that was the real horror to witness.

And these poor little ones, so starved for love from their parents,
would even lie to protect them or continue
to suffer this outrage, thinking it was their fault.
That they somehow deserved it.
*dear God*

Human bite wounds on hands and wrists,
cigarette burns deep into the muscle tissues,
broken fingers and hands:
-to teach them not to touch things.

Burns on the penis and vaginas, deep bites too:
-to teach them not to wet the bed.

Tied with a collar and dog chain to a pet-post
mounted to the ground in the back yard:
-while momma has a friend over.

Fathers who have, in turn, sexually abused their many daughters
untill the last one, in grade school,
is rescued by the others, some adult and
out of the home, who finally got the courage to turn Dad
in, to try and save the last child.

Mothers, who know in silence what is going on,
but are willing to sacrifice their
children rather than be a "mother" to them.

You hear in the news about the shaken ones, and left in cars,
the Home Alones, and other cases that
make it on a slow news day.
But these and more happen even in little towns
of 400 population, and are magnified to obscene
proportions in the larger towns.

-and so, please, I am really begging you:
If any of this reflects you or hits a point of guilt,
no matter how minimal,then PLEASE stop and think.
If you need help there ARE people who understand how life
can just grind your ass to the bone and make it easy
for you to take it out on a child
-so silent
-so there
-so easy
-so helpless
PLEASE talk to family, friends, faith,services...
but talk, and let it out, and take it upon yourself
to be a Mommy or Daddy:
and what that is supposed to mean.

If you are still at home, and are a victim yourself:
Tell people, not just family-
tell teachers
your priest or minister
your friends
their parents
call the hot-lines

YOU do not, nor ever have, deserved this.
You are not a mistake, or defective, or an unfair burden.
Your parents have lost their sense of things
and allowed themselves to fill with poison,
and no-one can heal, untill it all 100% stops.
If they can't be "mature" enough to stop, then,
for all your sakes, be the "Parent" for them, and help it to stop.
